DML WINS KEY FRIGATE REFIT

DML is pleased to confirm that it has learnt today (Wednesday, 16 June 2004) that its competitive tender for the refit of the Type 22 frigate, HMS Cornwall, has been successful. The refit will commence in November 2004 and will complete in late Summer 2005.

DML's Chief Executive, Dr Dennis Gilbert, said "This is excellent news, providing vital work for our surface ship business unit over a key period when we would otherwise be facing a difficult time. Competition is particularly fierce at the moment and we now have an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that we can deliver a successful refit on time and to the demanding standards of our customer".

DML is currently awaiting the outcome of two further competitive bids for work packages on other Royal Navy vessels.
